BalancePoint Acupuncture

Risa Silverstein has dedicated her career to healing both body and mind. She holds a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Columbia University’s School of Social Work.
She began her career as a pediatric social worker at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she developed a deep understanding of the emotional dimensions of illness and healing. During her time at MSKCC, Risa also began studying martial arts and Eastern philosophy. These interests sparked a fascination with acupuncture as a way to activate the body’s natural healing abilities—without the side effects of conventional treatments.
Her passion led her to pursue formal training in acupuncture, earning her degree and license as a practitioner. She went on to develop and lead the acupuncture department at Summit Medical Group, where she integrated her holistic training and clinical experience to treat a wide range of conditions.
Today, Risa is in private practice, working with patients of all ages. She draws on a range of techniques and modalities to address physical, emotional, and energetic imbalances, supporting each patient’s unique path to wellness.
